Double Omni Block pulley is used to connect to the skate line and the tracking line.A tighter connection is preferred so the ASAP can slide down the rope under minimal tension. We do not use a short sling for this setup due to the length of the ASAP shock pack. You may also use an end knot with a carabiner to make connection. Skate line directly tied into pulley’s eye, scaffold knot preferred.Tracking line and Skate line should be setup on the ground prior to climbing.A portion of the sale of this guide goes to support volunteer mountain rescue. However, it can be used as an educational enhancement in classes taught by a competent instructor. This is not an instructional text, but rather a quick pocket reference guide for personnel already trained and familiar with modern rope rescue. And the fourth has further refined the direction of the new standard. The third set the new standard everywhere from Iceland to Taiwan.

The first edition sold over 150,000 copies and became the de facto world standard for safe, intelligent rope rescue. It is small enough and rugged enough to take into the field rescue after rescue. Printed in full color on high tech storm proof paper, the Riggers Guide is completely cross referenced with handy safety reminders throughout. It also contains a completely updated and streamlined Command and Communication section that most closely aligns with EMBC training. It includes updated illustrations, as well as six new pages of information, such as proper application of skate blocks, use of Clutch devices, remote resets, etc. Progressing forward, the new fourth edition Technical Rescue Riggers Guide incorporates many important updates in what is the most important reference guide for modern rescue in decades. The DCTTRS system is rapidly becoming the standard in progressive rope work. This fully updated edition incorporates the DCTTRS (Dual Capability Two Tension Rope System) pioneered by EMBC in Canada. This fourth edition of the original Technical Rescue Riggers Guide by Rick Lipke with technical contributions by Kirk Mauthner, shows extremely safe, modern techniques, in 228 pages with over 600 clear illustrations and photos, from basic knots and anchors, to highlines, helo rescues, and much more! The Technical Rescue Riggers Guide is absolutely the most comprehensive and complete rope rescue guide available today.
